Alaska sunrises require a strong will to capture. The land of the midnight sun doesn't truly get dark. After backpacking out to this remote lake, I photographed the sunset until almost 12:00 a.m. Then crawled into my tent and set my alarm for 2:30. I was not happy when I woke up shivering but when I peeked out of my tent to check the light I got up in a real hurry. This may be one of the most peaceful mornings I have ever experienced.
